This is Wimzy the cat! He was actually one of my very, very first patterns I designed when I’d just started crocheting. I know he’s a bit broad-shouldered, but his tender look and squishy face make up for that.
You
need:
– 3mm crochet hook
– yarn needle
– stuffing
– roughly half a skein of Durable Cozy Fine (alternate yarns that work too are
Yarn and Colors Epic and Durable Double Four)
– an end of black yarn
– 11mm safety eyes
Stitches:
Sc = single crochet
Slst = slip stitch
St = stitch
Head:
1: make 6

2: inc x6 (12)
3: (sc, inc) x6 (18)
4: (sc 2, inc) x6 (24)
5: (sc 3, inc) x6 (30)
6: (sc 4, inc) x6 (36)
7: sc around
8: (sc 5, inc) x6 (42)

Put in the safety eyes between round 8 and 9, with 9 stitches between them.

Assembly:
Sew the head on the body. They both have 18 open stitches, so whip stitch them together stitch by stitch!
Sew the arms in the neckline, horizontally.
Sew the legs onto the bottom of the body, between round 2 and round 5, but make sure they’re curved backwards.
Sew the ears to the head between round 3 and 9.
Sew the tail to the butt between round 4 and 5.
Embroider the mouth with the black yarn, using the picture as a guide:
The stitches should be between round 8 and 12.
