Tiny Pineapple (free pattern)

Hi everyone! Today I’ll be showing you how to make this adorable tiny pineapple. This is a beginner-friendly pattern and will make a great decoration for summer parties. Why did I design it in November? To fight off my seasonal depression, of course!

What will you need?
– Yarn & Colors Epic in Mustard and Apple
– A little bit of pink yarn for the cheeks and black yarn for the smile 🙂
– 7mm safety eyes
– 3mm crochet hook
– Polyfill (pillow stuffing)

Special stitches:
– BLO: Back Loop Only, you work in only the inner loop of your work, instead of both loops!
– MR: Magic Ring, if you don’t know how to do this, you can chain 2 and work in the 2nd chain from your hook instead.

This toy is made with the amigurumi method, so you don’t close your rounds with a slst, instead you work in continuous spirals!

Let’s get started!

Body (make 1)
In Mustard
1: 6sc in MR
2: inc x6 (12)
3: (sc, inc) x6 (18)
4: (sc2, inc) x6 (24)
5: Sc around in BLO
6 – 12 (7 rounds): sc around (24)

Now you’ll make the face. Attach the safety eyes between row 8 and 9, with 3 stitches between them. Using the picture as a guide, embroider the mouth and cheeks on the pineapple.

A million dollar smile!

Start stuffing as you go along.
13: (sc2, dec) x6 (18)
14: sc around (18)
15: (sc, dec) x6 (12)
16: dec x6 (6)
Fasten off, weave in the ends.

Leaves (make 6)
In Apple
Chain 11.

Working back in your chain, starting in 2nd chain from hook:
Sc, hdc in next 2 st, dc in next 5 st, hdc in next 2 st, chain 1.

Cut yarn and leave long tail for sewing.

This extra chain is so that the last stitch won’t pull itself apart.

This, but then times 6.

Using the picture as a guide, sew the leaves onto the pineapple head. I went with two rows of 3 leaves, all facing forward, but you can go wild.

All pineapples are unique and perfect in their own right. There is no wrong way to sew on the leaves.

You’re all done! Enjoy your new pineapple buddy! Make sure to take good care of him, and don’t mention piña colada when he’s in earshot or he might get sad.
